We are delighted to congratulate our 2019 leavers on their examination results.

22nd August 2019

We are delighted to congratulate our 2019 leavers on their GCSE examination results. They are the fruits of an enormous amount of work on their part, are incredibly well deserved, and contribute strongly to their progression and ongoing self discovery. They reflect proudly on the students, their parents and guardians, and their teachers.

The school has continued to build on its strong commitment to Art and Design, and the students’ artwork this year has been stunning. 38% of students achieved the highest grade 9 in their Art & Design GCSE, a rise from 31% in 2018 and compared to a national average of 3%. Science results were also strong with a substantial improvement on the school’s own performance in 2018 and comparing well with national cohorts.

The school’s progress out of special measures (applied by Ofsted in October 2018) continues apace, and the school performance measures this year are much improved, with work well underway in many areas, in particular to improve student attainment in English and Maths. The anticipated transfer to Avanti School’s Trust over the course of the Autumn Term will bring new foundations to the school’s development and vision.

School opens to students again on Wednesday 4th September with a term of ongoing developments including . . . a literacy focus on technical language; an innovative teacher coaching programme; a renewed Steiner Waldorf SEND strategy led by motor-sensory integration assessment and support; a returning middle school Justice curriculum; and a continued commitment to Landcraft all the way through to Upper School. We wish all our students and families a restful final few weeks of the summer holidays, and look forward to welcoming you back soon.
